In Music this half-term, the Year 6 children have been learning how to play the ukulele.
The children have learnt how to play two chords and they can play a variety of songs together in sync.
In Year 4 the children have been enjoying their new Geography learning on misty mountains and deep rivers.
In Art the children have created representations of these Geographical features by using oil pastels.
I am sure you will agree we have some fantastic artists in Year 4!
Throughout the year our Year 1 children learn about Seasonal Changes. This half term the Year 1 children have been learning about the changes that happen in the Winter months.
Last week several of our Key Stage Two children attended a Cross Country running event at Victoria Park in Leicester.
This half-term, the Year 3 children have been learning how to create their own Digital Art by using a variety of programmes on the Chromebooks.
The children learnt about the work of the artist Piet Mondrian and replicated a piece of his work using Google Drawings.
In Cooking this week our Year 1 and 2 children were learning how to make a packed lunch as part of their new unit on 'Everyday Food.'
As part of our new Outdoor Learning Area we have had some help from members of the Leicester City Council Allotments Department. So far they have been busy planting trees, preparing a wild flower bed and building a compost bin. Thank you for all of your help!
In Year 3 the children have been enjoying their new Science learning on Rocks, Relics and Rumbles. The children made layers of the Earth using salt dough and created their our own volcanic eruptions. The children then practised their Oracy skills by discussing which volcano was the odd one out.
What has the 3D printer been printing this week?
This week the 3D printer has been printing Year 5's flower and plant designs based on their new topic 'Sow, grow and farm.' The Year 5 children have been working hard to research and learn about allotments in preparation for planting the school allotment in the spring.
In Computing this week the children have been creating their own digital art based on the artwork of Piet Mondrian. The children have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own artwork by using a selection of tools and colours on Google Drawings.
Last week our Year 5 children enjoyed their visit to the National Space Centre! The children enjoyed exploring the interactive displays and learnt about Space, astronauts and rockets.
