Yesterday our Year 3 children took part in a Stone Age workshop. The children engaged in a carousel of activities which included: creating cave art, an archaeological dig and dressing up as people from the Stone age.

We are pleased to announce that we raised £285.05 for Macmillan cancer care last Friday by selling cookies to our pupils.
Our Year 1 children have been learning and exploring the story 'Where happiness begins.'

Say Hi to Harper our new school therapy dog! Harper has been settling into her new home over the last couple of weeks. Harper is still undergoing puppy and therapy dog training until she is ready to meet the children.
We are pleased to announce that Rushey Mead Primary school achieved 3rd place in the 'Beat the street' challenge across Leicester city and Leicestershire. Over 500 of our children took part in exercising between the different points in the county. As a prize we have won £75 worth Of Waterstones vouchers which we are going to spend on a range of Sports related books!
With the introduction of our new DSP unit, our allotment has been moved to the edge of the playground. The builders have built some new sleeper beds which the children will be planting towards the Spring term. The mud kitchen also arrived last week and will be ready for use too.
Good afternoon! Here are our Year 4 displays all about hope. The children have been talking about their hopes and dreams for the future whilst realising that the sky is the limit.
The year 5 children have been outside today using chalk pictures on the playground to understand the biodiversity in our environments. We discussed the use of Quadrats to conduct surveys. The children learnt how important it is in providing enough variety for our Pollinators and the negative impact of buildings, cars and pollution.
Our Year 6 children have been on a school trip to Beaumanor hall this week. The children were taking part in team building exercises whilst using particular skills such as teamwork and leadership to support them in completing certain challenges.
Our Reception children have been enjoying their first few days in their new classes.
The children have been exploring the indoor and outdoor area, and they have begun to make new friendships.
Year 3 had their Entry day on Monday for their new topic. Year 3's new topic is all about the Stone Age era and so the children became archaeologists for the day.
